O projeto dos Novos Paços do Concelho de Mealhada amplia o papel do edifício histórico que hoje alberga a Câmara Municipal com um novo edifício administrativo de 4.390,00 m2, distribuídos em 4 pisos, juntando todos os serviços municipais – anteriormente espalhados pela cidade – numa única estrutura moderna e funcional.
O edifício apresenta-se como uma nova referência formal e conceptual para uma cidade em desenvolvimento. A sua implantação e volumetria subscreve e complementa a estrutura central urbana em consolidação, e lança novas materialidades que projetam o caráter da representatividade e da transparência dos serviços que acolhe.
The project for the new City Hall for the city of Mealhada amplifies the role of the historic building that today harbors the Municipal Council with a new administrative building of 4.390,00 m2, distributed in four floors, uniting all municipal services – formerly scattered across the city – in a single functional and modern structure.
The building presents itself as a new formal and conceptual reference for a developing city. Its plan and volume complements and undersigns the consolidating urban structure of the city centre, and introduces new materialities that project the character of representativity and transparency of the services it shelters.
