Mealhada, 2009.
O Parque Urbano ocupa um antigo viveiro florestal de apoio à florestação da Serra do Buçaco, na zona norte de Mealhada. A sua conversão visa abrir o espaço à cidade, fomentando a proteção dos recursos naturais e das estruturas ecológicas e promovendo uma nova identidade territorial.
À malha ortogonal precedente foi adicionada uma estrutura organizacional concêntrica, que se desenvolve a partir da área a norte que agrega as construções pré-existentes recuperadas para funcionar como estruturas de apoio ao Parque: Cafetaria e Restaurante, Centro de Documentação e Educação Ambiental.
The Urban Park occupies a former seed-plot for the historically preserved “Serra do Buçaco” forest., in the northern área of the city of Mealhada. Its conversion envisions to open up the space to the city, encouraging the protection of natural resources and ecological structures and promoting a new territorial identity.
A concentrical organizational structure was added to the preceding orthogonal grid, departing from an area on the north of the plot, where pre-existing buildings were refurbished to hold facilities supporting the Park: Cafeteria and Restaurant, Documentation and Environmental Education Center.
